Life of Aneel
Follow along below as we highlight different moments and achievements in his life, molding Aneel into the man he was.
Childhood
"Long ago in a galaxy Far Far Away"... Just kidding. Ever since Aneel was a kid, everyone knew he was special. When Aneel liked or was passionate about something it was by 110%.
Aneel would read and draw a lot whether it was fiction or non-fiction (as he got older). He would digest the characters, and took what he liked and made it a part of his life and learned from what he read. Aneel never just read for fun and left it there. He applied everything he read, was taught, came across, to his life.
Since we've known, drawing was one of Aneel's first hobbies. Any mood Aneel was in, he would draw. Whatever he would read, he would draw the characters, people, draw the plot of the story; doing his own design, his own rendition-twist. From movies, to books, tv shows, songs, Aneel would always draw them. The world was Aneel's imagination; it was endless.
One of the stories Aneel truly connected with was Star Wars. He understood Star Wars to the core. Star Wars is what connected Aneel to the galaxy and being interested in something that is bigger than us, the Universe.
Aneel had so many hobbies and interests, drawing, reading, swimming, karate, listening to music, singing, and dancing.
Along with his hobbies and interests, Aneel was caring, loving, empathetic. As a young boy, he would always worry about others around him. He put others first. Any time we were in India and he saw poor children and dogs on the street he would make us stop and give the children money or food and feed the dogs. As Aneel started getting older, his intelligence, imagination, love, and empathy for people grew exponentially.
Around 2004 or so, we all went to a fundraising event raising donations for children in an orphanage in India. As we sat there watching the video during the event, Aneel was deeply involved and it struck a chord in Aneel's heart. He wanted to do more than just donate money. If Aneel could have, he would have flown to India, educated all the children, and help them out there.
Aneel wanted to do more, learn more and joined The Boyscouts, Troop 709, when he was in 8th grade. He loved the discipline, organization, hiking, environmental awareness, and accomplishing the climb to the top of Philmont. As well as giving back to the community in different ways, such as his Eagle Scout project, renovation and repainting the basketball courts at Forest Vista Elementary School where he went to school and many more moments. Aneel was one of first in his troop to accomplish receiving his Eagle Scout on April 18th, 2009, in such a short span of time and became the 3rd Eagle Scout in our family after his Paternal grandfather and Uncle. Aneel felt motivated from BoyScouts and his Maternal grandfather to simultaneously take his passion for discipline, organization, giving back to the community by joining AFJROTC at Flower Mound High School.
Aneel made sure to take what he learned when he was young and applied to his life as he became an adult.
Adulthood
Aneel received his bachelor's degree at the University of North Texas, his passion to help others, work ethic, organization skills, and discipline continued to play a role in his life.
As Aneel took more engineering courses and continued to fall more in love with his education everyday, he wanted to help make a change. He wanted to use his education and knowledge to help people and the environment. He wanted young children to learn about engineering and how you can make an impact as an engineer.
After working in 2 different states for 3 years and enjoying being an " independent earning member of society", Aneel wanted to do more. He always had a dream to get his masters, start his own small company with engineers who can do things hands on and help the environment. As he went ahead and pursed his masters at UNT, his desire to spread his knowledge and extend a helping hand to people grew even more. Every year, since Facebook started doing donations for birthdays to non-profit organizations, Aneel made sure to always do a fund raiser and message everyone he knew, to donate towards a good cause. Since a young age, he paid so much attention to what's happening in the world around him. He wanted everything to be perfect, people who have stability should donate their time and money to the poor and help them.
As Aneel went through his 14 month battle against Big C , he never once thought about himself. His constant thoughts were, "what have I done to help others? What can I do in my situation to help people and animals? What can I do to educate others about the interesting field of Engineering and how to live an environmentally conscious life?
Aneel was a simple man with idealistic thoughts of protecting the world and helping others. He wanted everyone to be happy. As long as everyone was happy, Aneel was happy. Those who know Aneel will tell you about how he exuberates energy, positivity, that his love is pure and genuine, and does not think about what might be, he does what should be right, he cannot lie, and he does what he thinks.
